Step by step:
1. I first applied moisturiser all over the face and applied a lip balm to the lips so both would be moisturised and ready for makeup application.
2. I applied an eye shadow primer all over the eye lids to prevent creasing.
3. I used a fluffy brush and translucent powder to set the primer and to give it a powdery finish, ready to blend colours on top.
4. I applied some tape on the outer edge of each eye, from the outer corner to the end of the eye brow, to use as a guide for my eye liner.
5. Using a fine eye liner brush I applied some black gel eye liner along the lash line and along the tape to create a dramatic wing. I tried to make this as smooth as possible and as even as possible.
6. I lightly blended the same colour as the blush into the creasy with a fluffy brush.
7. Using the navy blue eye liner, I traced along the top line of the black eye liner to create an even line. I extended the blue eye liner at the point of the eye liner slightly to create a new shape point.
8. I removed the tape to reveal a sharp eye liner line.
9. I applied a primer all over the face to reduce the look of any pores and make the makeup last longer.
10. I applied some foundation all over the face with a beauty blender to give a full and even coverage. I blended this down the neck and would put it on the body if I was doing the full shoot look to give all the skin the same colour and texture.
11. I applied a concealer a couple shades lighter than the foundation to the high points of the face and under the eyes to conceal and give a brightening effect. I blended this out with a beauty blender.
12. I applied a thick layer of translucent loose powder under the eyes to prevent creasing and on any spots to make the makeup last longer.
13. I filled in my eye brows with an eye brow pencil a couple shades lighter than my eye brows to give a very natural finish. I brushed them through with a disposable mascara wand to remove any excess product.
14. I removed the excess powder from under the eyes with a fluffy brush and then applied some translucent powder all over the face to set the foundation.
15. I applied some peachy coloured blush to the cheek bones and to the temples to give a flushed look. I contoured with this colour slightly to shape the face.
16. I used a smaller brush and a slightly darker peach blush to contour under the cheek bones and on the temples to give a sculpted look.
17. I applied some highlighter to the tops of the cheek bones, down the nose, on the cupids bow, on the brow bone, in the inner corner and in the centre of the forehead to give the skin a glowy finish.
18. I applied some white supra colour with a small detail brush in the waterline to give a bright, doll-like look.
19. Using duo lash glue, I applied a strip of spikes fake eye lashes to the upper lash line and a smaller clump to the lower lash line, slightly in from the outer edge. I used tweezers for precision.
20. Using a lip brush, I applied an orange lipstick to the outer perimeter of the lips and then a bright coral pink on the centre. I blended these colours softly together, but I still wanted to be able to see the difference in colours.
I am happy with how the makeup came out because the eyes look very big, with the white waterline and exaggerated wing, and I like the slightly avant-garde looking lower lashes as they add a doll aspect. When I was applying the blush colour I thought the swimsuit was a lot more peach; however it is actually more bright pink! However I think I would prefer to add a bronzer round the face to make my model look very sun kissed, which is the desired look for someone who has been laying out in the sun. I will therefore use a bronzer to contour and bronze the face, but I will still use a cream product for this to keep the dewy finish of the face. I am happy with how the ombre orange/pink lips came out because they look very bright and bold but are still in the colour scheme; however I think they would look more luscious if they were more glossy and they would look slightly plastic, which is a look favoured by Mac in their collection adverts. I will therefore find a very shiny gloss and apply this for the photo shoot. I am really happy with the thickness and length of the lower lashes because they aren't too over powering; however I think the upper lashes could be slightly more dramatic but still spiky to compliment with spiky lower lashes. After looking in to more research image I decided that I wanted my model to have very dewy and glossy skin all over her body and on her face. I will therefore change this look slightly so that there is no powder applied and the finish is very dewy. I will apply light illuminators and highlights as well as a cream blush to achieve this look.
