In today's class we were asked to put together all the techniques we had learned throughout our technical sessions to create an inspired catwalk look. I decided to choose something that was slightly out of my comfort zone so I could test my technical skills. I chose the makeup in the image below because it uses lots of bright colours all over the face, with hot pink lips and cheeks and then a rainbow of colours blended on her eyes. I really liked how there was colour on every part of her face as I feel it is very common for people to be scared to do more than one strong feature on the face. I love how fun and girly this look is and I think it looks as though it could be shot for a Mac advert because the model looks very perfected and doll-like. The model looks very youthful and has big eyes and lips which is the look Mac tends to go for.

WEISNER, T., 2016. Lily-Rose Depp Lands First LOVE Magazine Cover [viewed 3rd March 2016]. Available from: http://www.eonline.com/uk/news/727941/lily-rose-depp-lands-first-love-magazine-cover |
I used all matte eye shadows and then added a shimmery white eye shadow on the centre of the lid and in the inner corners to give the eyes more depth. I didn't add any product to the eye brows, however if I were to do the look again I would add a small amount of product because they look too sparse and not neat enough and I don't think they frame the face enough against the strong eye look. I would also have used a darker blue eye shadow along the lash lines to make the eyes look more smokey and dark. I would have also used a darker blue mascara and I would have added more because I don't think the eye lashes stand out enough. I am really happy with how well the coloured eye shadows are blended together because the blend look seamless. I am also happy with how blended and even the blush looks and how I used it to contour the face slightly around the temples and under the cheek bones. Doing this look has inspired me to be more creative and experimental with colour.
