What is SoHo?

Gareth Pugh's 2016 Spring/Summer collection was inspired by SoHo as he says "For me Soho’s a little bit like Disneyland or a fairground, it’s about fantasy or escapism, you can go there and be somebody else". SoHo is in Central London and is known for being very loud and exciting, with a buzzing night life, variety of foods and live entertainment. There are many boutique shops, restaurants and West Ends shows to enjoy. SoHo is also known for being very reissue with it's sex shops, burlesque shows and lesbian/gay bars. Soho is also referred to as Theatreland, with more cinemas and historic theatres than anywhere else.

When I personally think of SoHo I think of the very bright and sometimes tacky lights in the street, coming from shops and bars. I also think of it as being very busy and buzzing all the time. I also think of it as a place where everyone is accepted for their individuality and creativity. I understand that a big variety of people go to SoHo but I always assume that the majority will be young adults who are very outgoing, confident and up for a good time, which could be shown through the way they dress of style their hair etc.
