Some of the outfits from the catwalk are shown below. There are many different colours in the range so there wasn't a colour scheme to necessarily stick to; however there were a lot of reds, turquoises, yellows, nudes and blues so I will keep that in mind when choosing the colours for my catwalk makeup look. The previous designer of this makeup and hair look, Lucia Pieroni, gave the models a very girly and light makeup look; however I wanted mine to look more oriental to suit the Neo-Oriental collection title so I think I will give the models a slighter more sleek look.

Face Chart 1
This is the first design I came up with. I chose the tulip shaped lips because I felt they were the most traditional looking and I also liked that the tulip shape linked in with the floral theme in Jonathan Saunders' collection. I used Mac's red lipstick in Russian Red because it is matte and a very true red. I didn't want the models to wear a very bright red because the colours used in the collection are more muted so it would stand out too much. I chose to use the colour red on the lips because it is a predicted 2016 spring/summer trend. I chose not to contour the cheeks because the it wouldn't have looked very traditional and I wanted the models to look more pretty and girly; the rose coloured blush was very popular with the chinese so I wanted to showcase their heritage. I added fake eye lashes on the eye because I wanted to add some definition to the eyes but without making them look too heavy. I chose to only put them on the outer edge of the eyes to give the eyes a more elongated, cat eye shape. I kept the eye brows very natural as I didn't want them to pull any focus. I am happy with how this look turned out; however I feel like it is too historical looking and not modern or unique enough. I think that the very pink cheeks would make the face look too over done and not high fashion, so I will design this look again without the bright rosy cheeks.
I was inspired by Marni's long, wispy eye lashes because I thought they looked soft and elegant, but still gave the eyes some definition and drama. I decided to apply the eye lashes very sparsely because I didn't want the eyes to look too neat or overdone. The very long eye lashes were inspired by the 2016 spring/summer trend of over the top eye lashes, but I still didn't want them to be the main focus of the look. I decided to give the model very light contouring to give the face sigh definition and then make the skin very dewy and fresh look, which follows the dewy skin 2016 spring/summer trend. I wanted to give my model dewy skin because I thought it would create a beautiful contrast between the glowing skin and matte, strong lip. I chose to do a natural, slightly fluffy looking eye brow because I didn't want them to pull any focus, but still wanted them to shape the face. I didn't give the model red lips in this look, but instead a very deep maroon colour. I felt like this lip colour would go better with the colourful collection because the colour is used in some outfits, but even when it's not I think it is a diverse colour and will match the other outfits. I do want to use the spring/summer 2016 trend of a matte red lip in my catwalk look so I may decide to do an ombre lip instead, using this colour and red to mute the red colour slightly but still follow the trend. I chose to give the model a tulip shape lip because it looks very traditional and the tulip shape ties in with the floral patterns of some of the pieces. I was inspired by one of the lip shapes used in Qing because it was such an interesting shape and almost looked like letters, so I decided to make the top lip look slightly like an 'M' shape to represent the brand, Mac. I really like how the shape turned out because it is so subtly an M shape; however I a concerned it might end up looking like two fangs so I will definitely have to experiment first.
Face Chart 3
I chose to only put eye lashes on the top lash line to give the eyes lighter, more awake look and I didn't want the eyes to be too fussy if the lips are to complex looking. I chose to use very long and wispy eye lashes, which was inspired by Marni's girl at London Fashion Week. I wanted to give the eyes some definition, but I didn't want them to look heavy because I want the lips to be the main focus. I decided to give the model a more structured eye brow look, as this was the traditional chinese/oriental look, and I want the makeup to look very slick and polishes to contrast with the sparse eye lashes and dramatic lip. I didn't contour the model's face for this look because I, instead, wanted to create definition with highlighting. I wanted the model to have very dewy skin, which is a 2016 predicted trend, because I wanted her to look very fresh and healthy looking. The lips are definitely the focal point to this look. I was inspired by the lips in Qing to do this unusual shaped lip because I thought it looked very unique and playful, which I think represents Jonathan Saunders' colourful collection. I think this intricate design would look really effective and precise up close, but I don't think it would translate well to people far away from it and it may just look messy because some of the lines are quite thin. I also don't think that the makeup artists on the fashion show would be very impressed if they found out they'd have to do this design on all the models!
Face Chart 4
I think this is my favourite design out of them all. I kept the face very natural with a very soft contouring under the cheek bones. I want the skin to look very dewy and glowy so I won't add too much powder and I will use highlighters to give my model's skin a beautiful shine to certain areas, like the cheek bones and nose. I want the skin to look as natural and light as possible so I will try and use as little product as I can, but still making the skin look flawless. I kept the eye brows very soft and slightly fluffy looking so that they still frame the face without looking too heavy. I was inspired by Marni's girl at London Fashion Week because of her long, wispy eye lashes. They looked very feminine and soft, but still gave the eye some definition which is exactly what I'm going for. I want the eye lashes to be sparse, with random lengths because I don't want them to look too neat or dense as I want the main focus to be on the lips. I want the wispy eye lashes to mimic the very light and breathable materials used in Jonathan Saunders' collection. I don't want to put any other eye makeup on the model because I want the eyes to look very fresh and awake. I chose to use the tulip shaped lip stick in this look because I think it would be the traditional oriental look that people would understand and because the tulip represents the floral and swirly patterns in Jonathan Saunders' designs. I didn't want the lip to be bright red because I don't think it would work well with the colours in Saunders' collection so I decided to use a darker red on the cupids bow and then blend it downwards slightly. This would darken the over colour of the lip and it will also accentuate the cupids bow shape which is in an 'M' shape, representing Mac. I am excited to try this look out and experiment with different eye lash options. If I was giving this look to every model I would change the lip colour slightly to a different shade of red to match with their outfits; however I would limit this to a small selection of colours to keep the colour scheme small.
